was formed circa 927 AD

under King Edgar,

a union between various

 Anglo-Saxon Kingdoms

within England.



Wales became part of the Kingdom of England

in 1536, the Kingdom retaining it's original

name 'Kingdom of England'.

England and Scotland formed the

Kingdom of Great Britain in 1707, then in

1801 Ireland was brought in to the union,

which became the United Kingdom of

Great Britain and Ireland.


Much of Ireland separated from the

United Kingdom in 1922, the remaining

union being renamed the United Kingdom

of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
